Alpha Institute 2004 Annual Meeting

Introduction:
From the President, Andrea R. Lord ,

Here we are gathered again. A wonderful night!

I hope all noticed we turned on the lights on the fence to lead you in reflecting the stars above that lit the way.

It has been an interesting year in terms of world events and in spite of the fairly hostile environment Alpha Institute has proved able to survive.

Strength comes in a variety of ways like standing your ground, speaking your truth.

The indigenous communities that we serve offer a much-needed voice, informing people that the earth and its keepers are alive. They are determined to remind people that the environment is fragile, deserving people's respect! With the present government it is ever more critical that communities honoring the earth have a place to present their opinions.

These indigenous communities, together with the Fountain Of Light and the Women's Circle Moon Page provide an active voice of alternative viewpoints and a strength that we hope aids you in your endeavor to speak for peace.

The Women's Circle Moon Page is an important and timely feature of Alpha Institute, offering support and commitment to the re-emerging feminine principle. The moon reports, facts, news and information provided on this site are an invitation to join in celebration of the feminine spirit bringing balance and nurturing to the earth and its peoples.
Anyone who wants to participate in this endeavor is welcome.

At this time Alpha Institute is a very valuable computer resource and one that we are proud to support.

Some of the Indigenous Elders that we have assisted over the years have transitioned, Janet McCloud joined the Great Spirit on November 25, 2003, and Grace Thorpe is in semi-retirement at the VA hospital in Oklahoma, but I know their spirits are with us and continue to help us persevere.

New Work

We have added some new web sites:
Native Movement and Black Mesa Water Coalition.
Both of these sites are youth oriented.
We assisted both Black Mesa Water Coalition and Native Movement by being their fiscal sponsor.
This means that they used Alpha Institute's 501©3 determination enabling them to receive grants to get started.

We hosted a Native American youth group last summer traveling from Canada on their way to a gathering at Black Mesa in the Navajo reservation Arizona. Funding

We applied for a grant from the Noyes Foundation on a recommendation but were unsuccessful in obtaining any funding.
Chris Cota donated $1,000.00.

Alpha Communications Development Corp. maintains around 5 for profit websites the monies earned from these sites helps maintain Alpha Institutes non-profit work. One of the for profit web sites is Painthorse Stables located in Cherry Creek we barter this account and they offer free horse rides to the volunteers of Alpha Institute so if anybody want to take advantage of this please let me know.

Thank You

Thank you.

Web Sites Update February 10, 2004

Black Mesa Water Coalition
Each year Peabody Coal Company pumps more than 4,500 acre-feet of pristine Navajo and Hopi drinking water from the "N-Aquifer".. Peabody uses this pristine water supply simply to mix with crushed coal-called "slurry". This "slurry" is then pumped through a pipeline over 275 miles to the Mohave. This pollutes the rivers and depleats their water supply.
